Slaven Bilic reckons that England can only think about winning the Euro 2016
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic reckons that England can only think about winning the Euro 2016 if they go all-out attack in order to take advantage of the impressive line-up of attacking players.
There is a feeling that manager Roy Hodgson does not know his best formation or starting line-up. This confusion has been presented because of a unique 2015-16 domestic season in English football. The arrival of players like Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy to the international setup has presented Hodgson with a lot of options, which is likely to make his task of naming the first 11 extremely difficult.
Many others have also started analysing the reasons for England having failed to win a major tournament for more than 50 years. West Ham boss Bilic says that England have had defensive or attacking problems in previous tournaments, but the big disadvantage comes with regard to the stance at the Euro 2016. Going into such a major tournament with a lot of confusion surrounding the stance can have negative impact according toBilic. He has recommended that England take advantage of the impressive attacking force and blow opponents whenever possible. England started the campaign with a game against Russia followed by matches against Wales and Slovakia.
If they do not take an early advantage in the group, things could get difficult at a later stage. "They have a good team.I said it two years ago when you [England] went out of the group [at the World Cup] in Brazil, you played with a lot of energy up front. If it's 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 it's not a big change for me. What I would like to see from England is... they've got to be unleashed when they have the ball. If they do that, they are, for me, one of the favourites, but they've got to just go out and play,” saidBilic.
