The West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has said that he expects the new signing Matt Jarvis to come good after settling with the club. The 26-year-old England international made his debut for the club in the match against Swansea during the weekend.
West Ham United, however, were extremely disappointing in the match after they lost 3-0. Matt Jarvis was expected to provide a lot of crosses for the strikers at the club, but he was good only in certain moments. As a result, many have questioned the £ 10.5 million the paid by West Ham United for the player to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The manager Sam Allardyce, though, has said that people should give Matt Jarvis some time before he needs to show his true quality. He expects the winger to come good ones he has fully settled at the club. Matt Jarvis was one of the main reasons for Wolverhampton Wanderers staying in the Premier league for the last three seasons before they were relegated to the Championship last season. James Collins also had a date to forget after he made a lot of errors in the match that allowed Swansea to record their second win of the season.
“It’s about us continuing to supply him with the service he likes. When you give him that service he is exceptionally talented in the final third. I think their full-backs just couldn’t stop him crossing the ball when he did that little trick where he drops the shoulder, because he is so good with both feet. It’s about us giving him the service to show that ability. Unfortunately he faded a bit in the second half but he was very good in the first,” Allardyce said after the match against Swansea. West Ham United will be up against Crewe Alexandra in the league cup.
