West Ham manager Sam Allardyce says that his future at Upton Park is still uncertain amidst reports that he will be allowed to leave the club at the end of the campaign.

Allardyce has been at West Ham for years now. During this period, he has overseen the club’s promotion back to the Premier League. This campaign, they are on course to registering a top-10 finish if they managed to keep their heads above Stoke City in the last six games. Concerns about the style of football at the end of last season forced Allardyce into adopting new methods at West Ham.

Even then, it appears that the position of the former Bolton Wanderers manager is not secure. There have been suggestions that West Ham will part company with him at the end of the campaign. Allardyce, though, has been part of the pre-season preparations already. He says that he does not know whether he will remain at the club, but he working in a professional manner. The same applies for some of the players as well. Striker Carlton Cole is one of the players whose future at the club’s under doubt. Allardyce, himself, is out of contract at the end of the campaign and there are no signs that West Ham will renew the deal with only a few months of the campaign left.

“We sat down yesterday and began to plan for next season, when we’re coming back for pre-season, where we’re going to go and who we’re going to play. It’s not fully evolved yet but the plans are in place. No I don’t [know if I am going to be at West Ham next season] but when you are contracted to a club you do the job that you’re paid to do, one of those roles is to plan for next season,” said Allardyce.
