Slaven Bilic has been able to achieve a very good first season at West Ham after the club came very close to qualifying for the Champions League.
It would have been a great achievement, but West Ham will still feel confident after missing out by a small margin.Bilic was taking over from Sam Allardyce, who is regarded as one of the safest options in the Premier league. His style of football was not necessarily liked by West Ham supporters, who have been used to far more attacking and beautiful passing on the pitch.Bilic not only had to get results, but he had to do so in an attractive manner.
Armed with his knowledge about West Ham inside out from his playing days,Bilic has transformed the hammers into potential European contenders. The club will be moving to a 60,000 seater Olympic stadium from next season. The club has already sold a large number of season tickets, which they would have otherwise struggled in the small Upton Park. Next season promises to be exciting for the West Ham and manager Slaven Bilic has exceeded all expectations set up on him, according to midfielder Mark Noble.Bilic has frequently called for Noble’s inclusion in the England squad after the 28-year-old’s impressive campaign.
“We’ve done fantastic this year. We surpassed all expectations – with the new players coming in and the new manager. We’ve re-assessed. We’re not getting greedy but we want as much as we can. We can go away on holiday and enjoy the season we’ve had. They [Leicester City] have earned it and given everyone hope – not just West Ham, the Premier League but the whole of Europe. There are teams who would never have believed what Leicester have done, but they fully deserved it and have not done it by being lucky,” said Noble.
