The manager of Wigan Athletic, Uwe Rosler, has said that he has to sign a couple of more players to get his team completed for the upcoming season.
Rosler has already secured the services of as many as 6 players this summer. Five of them are the permanent signings, while, the remaining one i.e. Emyr Huws is a loan signing.
Wigan had a chance to get promoted to the league last season as they had qualified for the Championship playoffs, but, they faltered a little bit in that round and had to stay in the second tier only.
The Latics were beaten by the Queens Park Rangers by 1-2 on aggregate in their playoffs tie. It was really heartbreaking for their fans.
According to Rosler, his boys have recovered from that playoffs setback of the 2013-14 Season and they are all set to start the upcoming season on a good note.
Talking to the reporters yesterday, the Wigan boss said, “Everyone in the camp is prepared.”
“We already have a strong squad and it will be even stronger once it’s completed.”
Wigan will be playing their first Championship match this summer on their home ground i.e. DW Stadium against Reading FC. Both these teams are the top candidates for earning a promotion to the Premier League and thus, that match is expected to be pretty exciting.
Reading’s record at Wigan’s home ground has been very poor in the last one decade as they haven’t been able to secure a single win there in this period. Last year, when they had played there, they had got pummelled by 0-3. They would surely be desperate to turn it around this season.
Reading had finished 7th in the Championship table last season, two places below Wigan.
