West Ham are fearful that Dimitri Payet might be leaving London during the summer and sign for a bigger European club.
Indeed, the Frenchman has been outstanding so far with France at the Euros and should be attracting the interest of various clubs during the summer transfer window.
The player signed a new contract with West Ham in February and so far there is no sign from the player that he might be leaving during the summer. But the English side will be wary that bigger European clubs can come knocking at the door during the summer and may tempt the player.
At the moment, there is news that Real Madrid is one of the clubs interested in signing Dimitri Payet. It is believed that Zinedine Zidane is a big admirer of the midfielder and will love to have him in Spain. But so far there are no concrete offers that have been made, and we will have to wait for the end of Euros to find out.
It is reported that Chelsea might also be interested in signing the French midfielder but with the number of quality midfielders present at Chelsea at the moment it is very unlikely that they will make a move for Payet.
Dimitri Payet has enjoyed a good start to his West Ham career since his move from Marseille, and he will be keen to stay with West Ham. Indeed, the club will be moving to a new stadium next season, and West Ham co-chairman has stated that they want to build a team for the future and would expect Dimitri Payet to be the foundation of the team.
However, it is hard to believe that Payet will refuse a big money move to Real Madrid if ever they come for him especially that he is 29 years old.
